Bauer Tamás began his career as a logistics engineer, but his professional interests soon shifted toward marketing and media. In the early stages of his career, he gained experience in marketing and brand management at both Hungarian and international companies. Later, thanks to the professional network he had built within the media industry, he became head of the Budapest office of a regional daily newspaper. He entered the out-of-home advertising market following a recommendation from his then-manager and was appointed Managing Director of a company specializing in the optimization of outdoor advertising campaigns. He has now been working in the OOH sector for 26 years, throughout his career leading companies operating primarily as sales houses. He is currently the owner and Managing Director of IK Outdoor. He considers one of the company’s key competitive advantages to be the extensive professional expertise accumulated over several decades, particularly through the planning, development, and optimization of out-of-home campaigns for major international agencies. A highly qualified, versatile team with substantial market experience forms a core part of this expertise. After 2010, IK Outdoor became one of the leading sales representatives of digital out-of-home networks, which were still considered a relatively new format at the time, and played an active role in the development and expansion of Hungary’s DOOH market. In 2025, the company became the first in Hungary to introduce programmatic Digital OOH buying, laying the groundwork for a more flexible, data-driven, and automated approach to media buying in the domestic market and opening up new opportunities in out-of-home media sales. Since June 2026, Bauer Tamás has served as Chairman of the OOH Division of the Hungarian Advertising Association.
