Major General László Kovács is the deputy state secretary for cyber defence of Hungarian Ministry of Defence. He has held this position since June 2026. He is a full university professor at the Ludovika University of Public Service, Budapest. He has been involved in electronic warfare, information operations, and cyber warfare for more than twenty-five years. In addition to teaching at the university, he conducts research as a scientific researcher in the fields of cyber operations, information terrorism, and the protection of critical information infrastructures. Between 2019 and 2023, he was the Cyber Defense Inspector for the Hungarian Defense Forces Command, then he served as the Commander of the Hungarian Defense Forces Cyber Operations Command. As a military leader, his main tasks were to manage the cyber defense and cyber operations of the Hungarian Defense Forces and to develop its organizations
