Dr. Gergő Barta

Dr. Gergő Barta is a Director in Deloitte's Consulting practice, where he leads cybersecurity, digital transformation, and technology risk management programmes across Hungary and the Central European region. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in information security, digital transformation, and regulatory compliance, with a particular focus on the financial services and technology sectors. In his role, he advises both Hungarian and international organizations on developing cybersecurity strategies, strengthening operational resilience, and achieving compliance with major regulatory frameworks, including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the NIS2 Directive, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and the EU AI Act. Dr. Barta has extensive expertise in AI governance, cyber risk management, IT governance, and the design and implementation of complex security and technology transformation programmes. He has contributed to numerous large-scale international projects across Central and Eastern Europe, working closely with business and technology leaders to enhance organizations' digital capabilities and cybersecurity maturity. He earned his PhD through research on the applications and implications of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. His research interests focus on the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, with particular emphasis on the secure, trustworthy, and responsible development and deployment of AI systems.
