Dr. Gergely Németh

Gergely Németh is a defence strategist specializing in strategic foresight and long‑range analysis. He currently serves as CEO of VIKI, the Hungarian Defence Innovation Research Institute, where he leads defence R&D and the integration of AI and large language models into operational analysis, net assessment, and wargaming. Previously, he directed strategic foresight at NATO’s Supreme Allied Command Transformation, including the development of NATO’s Strategic Foresight Analysis 23 and the establishment of strategic‑level net assessment practice.

He led the formulation of the Hungarian National Military Strategy (2021) and has held senior roles in the Hungarian defence sector and at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. Gergely holds a PhD in War Studies, is Vice President of the Hungarian Association of Military Science, a member of the World Economic Forum Global Foresight Network and Chair of the Future studies working group at US Army West Point Social Sciences Seminar (2024, 2025). He is a proud father of three children.
