Markus Schepke (also known online as Markus Shepherd) is an AI Developer and Applied Scientist at Wolt in Helsinki, where he builds calibrated pre‑checkout ETA models that power last‑mile logistics at scale. A mathematician by training (with master’s degrees from the University of Cambridge and the Leibniz University Hannover), Markus combines theory with hands-on production machine learning—lately specialising in deep neural networks. Before Wolt, his work experience included stints at Goldman Sachs and Yahoo in London. Outside work, he runs Recommend.Games and writes the Analysis Paralysis blog, applying data science to the wonderful world of board games. Away from keyboards, his two small daughters keep him happily over‑scheduled.
