Viktor Somogyi

Lead Developer, Machine Learning Specialist, External Researcher

Viktor Somogyi has been working in web and software development for 15 years. He is Development Director and Co-owner of Netwerk Media, and for more than 6 years he has been building custom AI/ML solutions. During this time, he has delivered projects to over a hundred clients, including major corporations such as the Telekom Group (e.g., an AI-based music generation system — developed well before the emergence of Suno and GPT models, a project considered globally unique at the time), Waberer’s, and AHN Biotechnologies. He is an AWS-accredited Solutions Architect and Machine Learning Specialist, and the lead AI/ML developer of a scientific project — managed by HUN-REN and supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) — that aims to automatically analyze the geological surface of Venus. His ongoing projects include an AI-driven predictive maintenance system for data centers (and other industries), as well as an AI-supported tourism and geoinformatics solution. His passions include scientific AI, open-source technologies, and cloud-based solutions. Internationally, he has been a speaker at the Linux Foundation’s Open Source Summit Europe and AI_dev Summit Europe, and he regularly provides AI training for both large corporations and SMEs in Hungary. In his free time, he competes in desert rally motorcycle racing (two-time winner of the Budapest–Bamako), organizes chess tournaments, makes music, and pursues hobbyist ornithology.
