Csókay Ákos

Ákos Csókay is the Secretary General of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK). He began his career as a researcher in the early 2000s, later working as a strategic advisor supporting private companies, municipalities, ministries, and state institutions. Between 2015 and 2019, he served as Deputy CEO of the Hungarian National Asset Management Inc. (MNV Zrt.), where he was responsible for the management of state-owned real estate and corporate shares. He also held various positions on the boards and supervisory boards of several companies. Starting in 2020, he served as Head of Cabinet to the President of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK), and from 2022 as its Secretary General. In this role, he led the renewal of internal operations, improved organizational efficiency, and developed new, innovative services. Since 2024, he has been serving as Secretary General of MKIK, committed to enhancing the resilience of Hungarian businesses. He sees the key to this in digitalization and the conscious application of artificial intelligence. This vision is supported by nationwide chamber initiatives such as the Digital Wake-Up AI Seminar Series, the MI/AI Hackathon, and the AI Summit, which offer practical tools and mindset-shaping to help SMEs transition to new technologies and maintain or improve their competitiveness. He places particular emphasis on direct consultation with entrepreneurs and on strengthening network-based cooperation among regional chambers. Through his work, he aims to contribute to positioning Hungary’s 175-year-old chamber system as a strong and influential member of the European chamber community.
