Dr. István Berkes

After earning his medical degree, Dr. István Berkes began his career at the National Institute of Sports Medicine (Sportkórház) in 1974, where he served as Chief Director from 2001 to 2009. He has been a university professor since 2006. He is a member of the boards of several national and international professional societies, as well as the editorial boards of multiple scientific journals. He has also been practicing privately since 2006. For over five decades, he has specialized in the treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Throughout his career, he has treated injuries of numerous Olympic, World, and European champions, as well as hundreds of elite athletes. His work is guided by a commitment to providing comprehensive, personalized care that supports full and speedy recovery. His main areas of interest include the treatment of acute and overuse sports injuries, with a specialization in arthroscopic procedures of various joints. Recently, his research has focused on the potential of artificial intelligence in the prevention of sports injuries.
