Dr. György Drótos

Dr. György Drótos is an associate professor at the Institute of Management Science at Corvinus University of Budapest (BCE) and director of the Management Science Program at the Doctoral School of Business Administration. He earned his bachelor's and PhD degrees from BCE's predecessor institutions. He pursued further postgraduate studies at Warwick Business School, IESE, and Case Western Reserve University. He spent extended periods as a visiting researcher at Aston Business School, Erasmus University, Catholic University of Leuven, and Victoria University of Wellington. He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Committee on Management Sciences and the board of the Management and Controlling Association. His main area of interest is digital transformation in the business and public sectors. He examines the impact of intelligent technologies primarily in the areas of strategic competitive advantages, operational processes, and management control. In 2003, he was awarded the title of "IT Educator of the Year" by the Hungarian Association of Chief Information Officers. In 2016, he initiated the establishment of the BCE Family Business Center, which he has been leading ever since. Within this framework, he is currently working on the professionalization of larger family-owned businesses, including their digital readiness. He is also active in the field of management consulting: he was a partner and owner of the international consulting firm Horváth & Partners for ten years, during which time he led and then supervised its IT consulting competence center.
