Christian Trummer is a seasoned technology leader, software engineer, and entrepreneur from Vienna. He holds a higher technical degree in Computing, IT, and Organisation, and is best known as the founder of Bitpanda, one of Europe’s leading fintech platforms.

As Bitpanda’s Chief Technology Officer for nearly a decade, Christian scaled the engineering team from a solo effort to over 400 engineers, overseeing the complete design and development of the company’s high-performance infrastructure. Under his leadership, Bitpanda built its own core trading platform, a full orderbook exchange, and effectively developed an in-house core banking system tailored for its brokerage services.

Christian's work focused heavily on cloud integration, security-first architecture, and scalable backend systems capable of serving millions of users in real-time. He played a pivotal role in integrating blockchain technologies, managing compliance, AML, and regulatory challenges while ensuring the platform remained innovative and resilient.

In the past two years, Christian transitioned into the role of Chief Scientist, where he now leads a specialized team focused on AI-driven transformation. His mission: embed AI across the organization to streamline internal operations, enhance product intelligence, and supercharge enterprise efficiency with a commitment to high engineering standards.
